The Library Company’s 288th Annual Dinner will feature David W. Blight, the Class of 1954 Professor of American History and the Director of the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance and Abolition at Yale University. Blight will speak about his recently published book, Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom. Professor Blight’s 2018 Biography of Frederick Douglass has won nearly every major award in his field, including the Bancroft Prize and a Pulitzer Prize for History.
