The seasons come, the seasons go, the Earth is green or white with snow… or perhaps it’s both, given how confusing the winter weather has been thus far! The worst may yet be ahead of us, but if you’re anything like us, you’re starting to feel the buzz of excitement. The tingle of opportunity. The promise of Lux et Veritas. Because, friends, you know that winter doesn’t just mean that chill in the air. No, there’s something big. Something great. There is a long and storied tradition, a grand and glorious SOMETHING that lights a fire under the gloom of February.
That’s right. Friends, Yalies, Philadelphians—it’s time to gather up your blue and white, grab your handkerchiefs, and put a nickel on the drum…
THE SEVENTH ANNUAL FEB CLUB IS ON ITS WAY TO PHILADELPHIA!
On Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6:30p.m. until our voices are hoarse and our cups have been drunk and our glorious reminiscing restores the camaraderie of our Bright College Years, Feb Club Philly makes its triumphant return to Fergie’s Pub, 1214 Sansom Street (just two blocks east of Broad Street). Our only competition will be the arrival of the band at 9:30 p.m., but show me a Feb Club that gets out-done by a band, and… well, based on the way last year’s crew perfected the Wobble Dance and boogied down with riotous enthusiasm, you’d better believe that it won’t be us.We landed on the weekend for the fourth year in a row, so no excuses! We’ll have a limited number of custom Feb Club glasses available for purchase at a laughably low price, and the Mory’s Cup is, as we speak, being fortified by expert dwarves and will be hand-delivered from Smaug’s mountain in preparation for another offensive. Let the call of Yale range far and wide! Will you be there?
For more information, contact your Feb Club Philly co-hosts,
Erin Coffey (erin.e.coffey@gmail.com), a dame who knows the Mory’s song by heart and is H-A-P-P-Y to sing it on request, and
Jeff Shields (jshields@phillynews.com), a gent who drinks his coffee from a Mory’s cup and bleeds bluer than frostbite every February
